FAQ

Frequently asked. Honestly answered.

Straight answers about pricing, Care Plans, hosting, and what happens after launch. No fine print, no hedging.

01

What's included with every package?

Every package — Basic, Advanced, or Pro — includes the same foundation:

  • Cloudflare hosting (fast, modern stack)
  • Mobile + desktop responsive design
  • HTTPS / SSL out of the box
  • Working contact form
  • Basic SEO baked in
  • Signed contract before any work begins
  • Source code yours on full payment
  • The matching Care Plan bundled (monthly billing only)
  • A warranty period after launch — 30 days on Basic, 45 days on Advanced, 60 days on Pro

The tier differences are scope (1–3 vs. 4–5 vs. 6–8 pages), copywriting depth, photography, SEO complexity, and the size of the bundled Care Plan. Everything above is the same regardless of tier.

02

What if I need changes after launch?

Two scenarios, depending on how big the change is:

If it fits inside your monthly Care Plan time — text or email me and I handle it within your tier's SLA:

  • Care Basic: 30 minutes of update time per month, 5-business-day turnaround
  • Care Advanced: 1.5 hours per month, 4-business-day turnaround
  • Care Pro: 4 hours per month, 2-business-day priority turnaround

If it goes beyond your Care Plan time — it's $65/hr, billed in 15-minute increments, with a $16.25 minimum per task. I always quote the work in writing before starting, so there are no surprise invoices.

Unused Care Plan time doesn't roll over. The clock resets each month.

03

Can I cancel my Care Plan?

Yes, any time. The terms:

  • 30 days' written notice (text or email is fine)
  • No cancellation fee
  • No clawback of anything you've already paid
  • The site goes offline 30 days after your notice

If you've paid the project in full, the source code is yours — you can take it to self-host or hand it to another developer. If you'd rather keep the site live with a different setup, we can talk about options during your notice window.

Since billing is monthly only, you're never locked into a longer term than the month you're in.

04

What if I need more pages later?

Page count is a hard tier boundary, so adding pages can affect both the project tier and the Care Plan. Three scenarios:

  • Adding a page within your current tier — this is build work beyond your Care Plan time, so it's quoted at $65/hr in 15-minute increments, with the quote approved in writing before I start.
  • Adding a page that crosses into a higher tier (e.g., going from 3 pages to 4, or 5 to 6) — the project upgrades to the next tier. You pay the difference for the build, and your Care Plan upgrades on the next billing cycle.
  • Going beyond 8 pages, opening multiple business locations, or adding e-commerce — that's a custom quote at $65/hr rather than a published tier, since the scope can vary widely.

Every quote is written and approved before any work starts. No surprise tier jumps.

05

Why monthly only? Why no annual discount?

Three reasons:

  1. It keeps the value honest. If the work is worth what it costs, that should be true every month — month after month, with you paying for value as it's delivered.
  2. It's predictable. Same small line item every month, easy to budget. No surprise yearly bill, no auto-renew fine print, no proration math when something changes.
  3. It respects your right to leave. With 30 days' written notice you can cancel any time. Annual prepay would tie up your money whether or not the relationship is still working. Monthly billing keeps that lever in your hands.
06

What happens if I don't pay?

I'd rather talk first — life happens. But there's a published timeline so neither of us has to guess:

  • Days 1–10: grace period. A late fee applies, and I'll reach out. Pay during this window and nothing else changes.
  • Day 11+: site auto-suspends until payment clears.
  • Day 31+: site is decommissioned. To bring it back, the past-due amount plus a $170 reactivation fee applies. The reactivation fee kicks in after day 30.
  • Day 90+: account closed. Bringing back a closed account means restarting as a new project.

If something's coming up — a slow month, a transition, anything — text or email me before day 11. Working out a plan is straightforward when we talk early.

07

Why Cloudflare?

Cloudflare is what runs your site, and it's chosen for a few concrete reasons:

  • Speed. Pages served from a global edge network — visitors hit the nearest data center to them, which means sub-second loads from almost anywhere.
  • Modern stack. Pages are built as fast, static-first HTML. The result is faster pages, smaller failure surface, fewer moving parts.
  • Automatic SSL. HTTPS is on by default. SSL certificates renew themselves. You never get a "your site is insecure" warning because a certificate expired.
  • Built-in DDoS + bot protection. Standard at every tier.
  • Portability. The source code is yours on full payment. Nothing about the site is locked to Cloudflare specifically — it's a hosting choice, not a platform commitment. You can move it elsewhere any time you want.

If you want a deeper technical walkthrough before signing, ask. I'd rather you understand the foundation than just trust me on it.

08

How fast can my site go live?

Depends on the tier:

  • Basic (1–3 pages): 7–10 business days from approved quote to live site
  • Advanced (4–5 pages): 10–14 business days
  • Pro (6–8 pages): 18–25 business days

The timer starts after the quote is signed and the deposit is in. Before that we run a free 15- or 30-minute consultation, then I send a written quote within 24 hours. Most days I reply within hours, not the next day.

What can shift the timeline:

  • How quickly you get me content (text, photos, logo)
  • How many revision rounds we do
  • Whether the scope changes mid-project

I'll always tell you upfront if anything is pulling the timeline. No quiet slippage.
